We want you to practice and follow all the rules of safe firearm handling while doing all of the above.
Our laser range allows you to practice as many shots as you can fire in the one hour time time slot allocated to you for range time.
To compliment the advancement of your shooting skills, we offer a variety of electronic targets to challenge you to continually increase your skill set!
Finally, we want you to have fun while doing all of this!
The NRA Basic Pistol Class Has Two Different Class Formats Depending Upon Your Preference.
The first format is the blended class where you start your training online computer as based training, a passing grade is a REQUIRED prerequisite to being able to register for the Instructor led part of the class.
The instructor led (classroom and gun range) portion takes about 4-6 hours of classroom time.
The gun range portion is the shooting practice and qualification part.
Students are required to shoot 5 shots each at each of the 4, 4 inch diameter circles on the target.
To successfully pass the course, the student must qualify at the RED level as described below.
For the RED Level, the target is 10 feet away, and the shooter is standing and shooting unsupported.
For the WHITE Level, the target is 15 feet away, and the shooter is standing and shooting unsupported.
For the BLUE Level, the target is 20 feet away, and the shooter is standing and shooting unsupported.
NOTE! ONLY the RED level is required to pass the course! A shooter may choose to shoot the more challenging levels if, so inclined and, there is available range time.
This format is the Instructor Led class where you spend the entire class learning and training with an Instructor.
The Instructor led class takes about 9-12 hours of classroom time depending upon how quickly the class masters the objectives.
We are considering offering this class as 2, 6 training hour days. Plan to be onsite for 8 hours each day. There will be 2 15 minute breaks before lunch, 1 hour for lunch, and 2, 15 minute breaks after lunch.
The timing and lengths of the breaks will vary depending upon how well the class is doing meeting the objectives.
We are also considering offering this class as 4, 3 hour sessions with 2 15 minute breaks at the 1 hour and 2 hour marks.

At FASTLR we recognize that open classes are not always the most comfortable environment for everyone to learn in.
In support of our students who wish a smaller environment, we offer private classes--at a necessarily higher cost--to help you learn in an environment that is most comfortable for you.
We offer these options for both our NRA and GCO classes.
For more information, please email us at classes@fastlr.net.
We are working diligently to find both a place that is suitable for building our classrooms and our Laser range as well as finding a location where we can take our classes to do their qualification shoots.
These two tasks have proven to be more of a challenge that we anticipated.
We continue to look for these places and appreciate your patience with our search.
Our Laser Range is designed to provide a shooter with a cost-effective opportunity to hone their shooting skills by practicing all the elements of aiming, without actually expending any live rounds. By shooting pulses of laser light at electronic targets designed to sense these pulses, the shooter removes the cost of additional ammo from the equation and can focus entirely upon the fundamentals of aiming. Of particular interest to first time shooters, the Laser Range offers the opportunity to practice your firearms safety rules in an environment where breaking these rules is unlikely to result in any injury or death as is a possibility with real ammunition. At Firearms Safety Training and Laser Range, we encourage our shooters to follow all gun safety rules at all times with our blue laser guns. Doing this reinforces the importance of these rules when you visit a range to shoot live ammunition.
Our range charge includes one hour of range time for one shooter, a choice of 3 different blue laser guns, and a choice of several different electronic targets.
You are welcome to shoot as many times as you can pull the trigger during your time on the range.
We carry 3 different Blue Laser guns for you to choose from:
A full size semiautomatic.
A compact semiautomatic.
A revolver.
Each lane in our range has a target stand that is height adjustable to allow you to shoot comfortably level, above level, or below level as the shooter chooses. The target stands can be moved to different distances from the firing line to allow the shooter to increase the level of difficulty as their skills improve. Each lane is 5 yards, or 15 feet, in length. This distance allows a first time shooter to bring the target in closer as needed to begin with and place it farther away as their skill increases. For the purposes of increasing a shooter's aiming proficiency, we do not need to have lanes longer than 5 yards.
